Yoga and Youth at weekend overnight camp!
We are so excited to share yoga and art with the campers at Camp Mariposa in Loranger LA. Yes, art too! What an amazing group of campers and staff!
January's Camp Mariposa theme is
Making Good Choices
March's Camp Mariposa Theme:
Taking Care of Ourselves
May's Camp Mariposa Theme:
YEP's weekend overnight camp supports children ages 9 to 12 who are impacted by substance abuse in their families. Camp Mariposa gives children the knowledge, tools and coping skills to help prevent them from developing an addiction of their own and helps break the intergenerational cycle of addiction.
We are excited to teach what we know so that these children can add yoga and mindfulness techniques to their coping tool boxes.

Trauma-informed Yoga Training July 2017
Thank you to Project Peaceful Warriors for an excellent training filled with valuable information and a lot of heart!. This training was geared towards educators, social workers, community leaders, and yoga teachers who work with with primarily adolescent/teen individuals or youth communities with trauma.
We gained a deeper understanding of trauma, how it manifests in the body, how yoga and mindfulness from a trauma informed and culturally competent lens can support students, and the skills to implement the tools and feel empowered to bring them back to your students.
